Dr. Ummed Singh specializes in Public Economics and Mathematical Economics. His scholarly contributions include the successful completion of two major research projects funded by UGC and ICSSR and he is currently leading two ongoing major research projects under the RUSA Programme, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and ICSSR New Delhi. Seven Ph.D. degrees have successfully been awarded under his supervision.

Dr. Ummed Singh graduated from the University of Delhi and did master’s in Economics from the prestigious St. John’s College, Agra. He later pursued his Ph.D. at the University of Rajasthan on Value Added Tax in India. He has assumed several academic and administrative responsibilities. He served as the Coordinator, Department of Economics at the Central University of Rajasthan, Kishangarh (Ajmer). He served nearly seven years as an Assistant Professor at Panjab University (PURCM) where he also actively contributed as a member of both the Administrative and Academic Committee. He has been a member of the School Board and Academic Council at the School of Social Sciences, Central University of Rajasthan. He has also served as member of Degree Research Committee, Panjab University, Chandigarh and the Board of Studies (BOS) at Maharaja Surajmal Brij University, Bharatpur. Dr. Singh has also contributed to literature, authoring the reference book Value Added Tax (VAT) in India and editing the volume Role of Emerging Technology in Transformation of Economy. He has presented 50 research papers at national and international seminars/conferences and published 40 research papers in journals. He has also served as the Managing Editor, Arthsodh Journal, Department of Economics, University of Rajasthan.

Dr. Ummed Singh was elected as a Senate Member (2015-2018) at the University of Rajasthan and currently, he is the President of the Rajasthan Economic Association since October 2023.
